Taster Course to enable men who have expressed an interest in horticulture to sample aspects of the main programme. Run over 4 weeks, 2 hours per day Monday to Thursday

Horticulture Programme for Men (BTEI Programme)

This programme provides you with the opportunity to learn all about plants, so whether you have never grown anything up to now and you want to give it a go, or you are eager to extend your knowledge and develop it as a career, then this programme may be what you are looking for. In addition to gaining a lot of practical skills, this course can also help you to build your confidence. The Pat Murphy Community Garden provides the setting for our very practical Horticulture Programme. This magnificent garden will inspire and nurture whilst also catering for all levels of interest.

1. Horticulture Course QQI accredited level 4 Content Plant Propagation, Plant Identification Care & Maintenance Growing Fruit, Growing Vegetables, Safe Horticultural Practice, Horticultural Tools & Equipment, Communications and Work Experience
   Duration: 17 hours per week
   Frequency: Monday- Thursday 9.30 - 1.30 (Term: September to June) | 1 Programme per year
   Eligibility: Men who are in receipt of a DEASP Payment
